Dr. Kazuhiro Okuma, the inventor of Fibersol®-2 of Matsutani Chemical Industry, Co., Ltd. was given a Certificate of Recognition by AOAC International.
The recognition was for 2010 Collaborative Study of the Year “Total Dietary Fiber (CODEX Definition) by Enzymatic-Gravimetric Method and Liquid Chromatography”. Okuma was recognized for his work and involvement.

The Collaborative Study of the Year Award honors those who show excellence on the part of Study Directors that focus on scientific innovation and soundness of design, implementation, and reporting. The study is chosen for its ability to demonstrate unique aspects of a collaborative study and method. Examples of these criteria are innovative technology or application, breadth of applicability, critical need, difficult analysis, or range of collaborators. Recognition is given at the AOAC International Annual Meeting with the receiving of an award.
